A Different Start in 2022

  A Different Start in 2022

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV)

As we head into 2022, I am filled with gratitude and joy for how God continues to bless Community of Love Christian Fellowship. Together we have accepted God’s invitation to learn how to love one another and the fruit of this great task is the amazing fellowship that we experience as Community of Love. This (2021) has been another difficult year as we have mourned the loss of loved ones, relationships, jobs and numerous comforts during this extended season of COVID. Yet, we have also been tremendously blessed by our collective resolve to love, live and to be a blessing to one another. I, for one, am overwhelmingly grateful.

As the COVID infection rates rise due to the delta and omicron strands of the coronavirus, we must stay vigilant and not grow weary in staying safe. Although many of us have lost loved ones to this horrible virus, all of our beloved within the house of Community of Love who have been infected have fully recovered. This, in part, is due to our advocacy for the use of the vaccines/ boosters when medically feasible, our COLCF policy of mandating the use of masks when physically present at the church, and our absolute commitment to the power of prayer. Our success in keeping everyone as safe as possible also comes from our ability to make very difficult decisions with a spirit of agreement and with transparency.

In consultation with our Director of Operations & Chair of the Diaconate Ministry and in agreement with our Assistant Pastor, Deacons and Chair of the Church Council, we will return to not gathering in our building for service, instead we will continue to gather virtually using our website www.COLCF.org, our Facebook LIVE and YouTube LIVE streams. If you are not following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, take a moment and join now. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel as well.

For our beloved who are not physically in Massachusetts, you will experience no change. For those of us who were entering the building each week for service, we will not do so for the month of January. I am aware that this decision may be a disappointment to some. Yet, it is imperative that we stay safe in this season as the rate of infections continue to rise. Your safety is important to me, as is the safety of our musicians, worship leaders, “in house” media ministry, set-up team and our Deacons.

This coming Sunday is the first Sunday of the year and our annual time of consecration. Delta, nor omicron will change that. Please plan to join us on Sunday at 12:30 PM online. I ask that you please make sure to prepare a quarter teaspoon of oil per person, AND prepare your communion table. We are going to consecrate ourselves in the anointing of the Holy Spirit and take communion so that we will stay “on mission” in 2022. Bring your family and loved ones, invite your friends and co-workers and let’s grow in faith and love, together!

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 12:30 PM (EST) on our COLCF website, Facebook, or YouTube, as we experience our Consecration Sunday full of prayer and praise!

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, blessed and amazing 2022!!!
